Beginning with 2006-07 winter sports Olentangy
Braves will find images and news on these pages.
Just as with Olentangy Liberty, students who are
interested in careers in Journalism and
Photo-journalism are encouraged to read the About
Us page to find out about this exciting opportunity to
gain experience.
Time commitment probably will equal 15 minutes +/- a
week, depending on the students enthusiasm.
Olentangy Sports News provides experience in
Photojournalism through working with our chief
photographer and learning the knowledge tools of
successful sports photography. Professional sports
photographic equipment is made available to students
to record sports images. Journalism experience is
gained through the writing of small news articles (1-2
paragraphs) which are then published on the news
site with photographs.
Karen Carter, Chief photographer and Editor, has
been a professional photographer for 20+ years.
Carter has a BFA from Ohio University and a MA from
University of Cincinnati. Carter's stated goal is to
provide hands-on experience for high school students
as they are exploring future career options..
